YouTube Video Downloader — what makes this one different

The ceiling here is 720p, and it is worth knowing that before you paste rather than after. It is a deliberate choice: sending files is the only real cost of running this, a 720p save is about a ninth the size of the same video at maximum resolution, and on a phone screen the two look the same. That is what keeps the tool free, with no account and no queue.

What you do get is the file done properly. YouTube keeps picture and sound as separate streams, so a downloader that only hunts for ready-made MP4s hands you either a silent file or whatever scrap happened to be muxed. What is the highest quality I can download?

720p, measured on the short side — so 1280x720 for a normal video and 720x1280 for a Short. Bandwidth is what a free tool has least of, and the step down from maximum resolution saves roughly ninety per cent of it for a difference you will not see on a phone.

Is this YouTube video downloader safe?

There is nothing to install, so there is no installer to carry adware. We never ask for a YouTube account or password, and your link is not stored after the download finishes.

Can I get just the audio as MP3?

Yes. Choose "Audio only" in the quality list and you get a best-bitrate MP3 converted from the highest-quality audio stream available.

Why do some videos show fewer options?

The list only shows what the uploader actually published. A channel that uploaded at 360p has no higher version for any tool to find, here or anywhere else.
