Yes. Choosing "Audio only" downloads the audio stream alone and converts it to MP3 — the video is never fetched, so it is much faster and much smaller.

What quality is the MP3?

It is converted at the top quality setting from the best audio stream in the source, so it is as close to the original as MP3 allows.

Can I use the audio in my own Reel?

Only if you have the right to. Music in Reels is usually licensed to the platform, not to you — use it for reference, or get permission from the rights holder before publishing.

Does this work on Instagram Stories audio?

It works with public Reels and public video posts. Stories are temporary and generally not publicly addressable, so they are not supported.
